Palmetto Skyworks
The Pilot and Owner
My name is Jackson Gutierrez, and I’m the Founder, Owner, and sUAS Pilot behind Palmetto Skyworks. I started this company with one simple mission: to provide high-quality, dependable, and creative aerial services tailored to the needs of modern clients.
As a solo operator, every project I take on is handled directly by me — from planning the flight to editing the final footage. That means my clients can count on a consistent experience, direct communication, and attention to detail that larger companies often can’t provide.
With a background in military drone operations and a passion for cutting-edge technology, I bring both professionalism and creativity to every job, whether it's a commercial real estate shoot or a custom aerial film project.

What I Do at Palmetto Skyworks
Palmetto Skyworks offers a range of drone-based services designed to meet the needs of individuals, small businesses, and commercial clients alike. My core services include:
-
Aerial Photography: High-resolution still images from unique angles and elevations.
-
Cinematic Drone Videography: Smooth, stabilized video footage perfect for marketing or storytelling.
-
Real Estate & Property Shoots: Highlighting properties with dynamic views that ground-level shots can’t provide.
-
Inspections: Aerial overviews of rooftops, construction sites, land plots, and more.
-
Event Coverage: Capturing special moments or large-scale gatherings from above.
-
Custom Missions: If you have a unique idea or need, I’ll work with you to plan a custom flight operation.
Whether you’re looking to list a home, monitor progress on a construction site, or simply create stunning visuals, I can adapt to the scale and scope of your project.
Background: From Military Drones to Civilian Flight
I currently serve on active duty and have real-world operational experience using Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (SUAS) within the United States Marine Corps. During my military service, I’ve conducted aerial surveillance, reconnaissance, scouting, and perimeter security using military-grade drones in challenging environments.
That experience has taught me more than just how to fly — it’s given me a deep understanding of safety protocols, airspace regulations, mission planning, and accountability. These same values are now the foundation of Palmetto Skyworks.
I hold a valid FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate, which legally allows me to conduct commercial drone operations anywhere in the U.S. under FAA regulations.
Why I Started This Business
Launching Palmetto Skyworks wasn’t just a business decision — it was a personal goal and a passion project.
I’ve always been drawn to flight, photography, and new technology. Drones combined all three of those interests into a skillset I could turn into a business. After gaining years of experience flying drones in the military, I saw an opportunity to use those same skills in the civilian world to help people tell stories, solve problems, and see things from new perspectives.
Starting this business also allows me the freedom to build something of my own — something that reflects my values, my dedication to excellence, and my desire to grow both as a pilot and as a business owner.
What Sets Me Apart
What makes Palmetto Skyworks different is the personal level of service and the professional mindset I bring to every job.
I focus on:
-
Clear, responsive communication from the first message to final delivery
-
High production quality in both raw and edited media
-
Creative framing and smooth flying for visually compelling shots
-
Strict safety and compliance standards, including awareness of FAA no-fly zones, airspace restrictions, and weather conditions
-
Client-focused flexibility — I work around your schedule, your goals, and your budget
Clients often tell me they appreciate not just the final results, but how easy and professional the entire process is. That’s something I take pride in delivering every time.

If you're located outside of my immediate service area, I encourage you to reach out. I’ll be happy to discuss travel arrangements or remote planning to make your project happen — especially if you’re looking for a reliable pilot with experience and the right certifications.
